ACCOMMODATION
They like to make things that much easier for our students and that’s why, at either our Colchester or Southend Campus, they’ll guarantee you university-provided accommodation for your first year of study. Starting from £80 per week, our comprehensive range of award-winning accommodation is sure to make you feel at home – they’ve got something to suit every budget and every personality. All our university-provided accommodation consists of single study bedrooms, grouped in selfcontained flats of various sizes, with communal kitchen-dining facilities. No matter where you live on-campus, you’ll have access to free Wi-Fi.

Colchester Campus
Home to over 13,000 students from more than 130 countries, Colchester Campus is the largest of Essex's three sites, making them one of the most internationally diverse campuses on the planet. With shops, a bustling street market, restaurants, banks, a theatre and even a nightclub and a hairdressers, it's possible to survive without ever leaving campus.
- Southend Campus
The Southend Campus is based in the heart of this vibrant and modern seaside town. Famous for its beach resort and pier, Southend-on-Sea stretches along seven miles of award-winning coastline, providing plenty of opportunities for a wide range of water sports and leisure activities.
If you're joining the School of Health and Social Care, East 15 Acting School, Department of Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies, or Essex Business School, you may well be studying at Southend Campus. Lively, state-of-the-art facilities and a close-knit international community, Southend is the perfect environment for living and learning.
- Loughton Campus
Loughton Campus is perfectly located, providing both access to the rich, cultural diversity of London and an attractive and peaceful setting in which to study.
Campus is just a five-minute walk from London Underground station, Debden, where you can travel in only thirty minutes to Central London, West End theatres and mainline train stations including Eurostar. Essex often presents students’ own work at theatres and studios in London.
University has three sites at the Loughton Campus – Hatfields, Roding House and Unit Four. Hatfields is a beautiful Georgian dower house, set in five acres of lawns with orchards, flowerbeds and a small lake, providing an idyllic atmosphere for study, relaxation and performance.
