Programme structure
At the beginning of the course, both general and construction- specific technical basics are taught. This includes mathematics, physics (especially technical mechanics), building design and building materials, building physics, building modeling and building informatics.
In project-oriented courses, skills for planning and executing building construction projects are taught – from building planning to structural design and detailed planning to construction project management and implementation planning. In addition to practical skills, language and communication skills are also developed here.
In the further course of the course, knowledge in the area of material-specific construction methods and construction operations is deepened. Elective modules enable you to set priorities on topics such as building in existing buildings, resource consumption & sustainable building as well as digitization and industrialization in the construction industry.
Career opportunities
As employees of an architecture, civil engineering or engineering office , a company in the construction industry or an authority , civil engineers usually develop, build and test challenging buildings and associated civil engineering and infrastructure structures in interdisciplinary teams . The path to self-employment , for example as a builder, civil engineer or expert.
Graduates of the civil engineering in building construction course can work in the following areas:
