Programme structure

The Master’s specialisation in Cultural Geography and Tourism is taught at the Nijmegen School of Management. It has a course load of 60 EC* (one-year) and offers space for elective courses, with which students can give their programme their own personal finishing touch. Career opportunities

The Master’s specialisation in Cultural Geography and Tourism provides graduates entry into rapidly growing sectors of the job market, be it government, business or academia. Graduates will be able to apply the scientific insights and practical skills acquired to topics as varied as the development and marketing of places, tourism industries, planning, sustainability, cultural diversity.

With expertise gained during this Master’s, a graduate can be employed in a wide range of jobs, both in and outside the Netherlands, for example:

- Government agency: as city or region manager, city or region marketer, city or landscape planner, etc.
- Semi-government agencies such as development agencies, cultural planning agencies, but also research institutes: as researcher, consultant, advisor, policymaker, etc.
- Private industry: as event manager, museum director, city or region marketer, consultant, journalist, PR-manager, tourist office manager, event manager.
