Programme structure

The programme is divided into four groups of modules. It begins with three conversion modules that have a prerequisite the Core of Physics covered in all IoP accredited Physics degrees in the UK in order to teach the necessary Electronic Engineering background which underpins modern Radio Engineering.

These conversion modules are followed by four core modules that concentrate on delivering the theoretical, experimental and computational skills at the heart of radio engineering.

The core modules are followed by optional modules on advanced topics spanning scattering and diffraction, the theory of modern electromagnetic materials including metamaterials, radar systems and mobile and satellite and optical communications.

Finally, students undertake a sustantial individual research project over a period of three months
