Overview

Essential Info

Are you fascinated by the ever-expanding media and the role it plays
in our lives? A recent study suggests UK adults spend 45% of their
waking
hours consuming media.** This makes the modern mass media, and its
convergence with new media and new technologies, an important area of
study.

Glamorgan was one of the first universities in the UK to teach
courses in this subject area and your studies here will benefit from
this well-respected tradition. On this course, you will engage with a
wide range of disciplines to explore the role of media in everyday
life, as well as the political significance of media communications
and their
implications for personal identity and behaviour.

You will develop an in-depth understanding of media, as well as the
critical skills to research and write about the industry.

You will be taught by staff whose research was recognised as
world-leading in the latest Research Assessment Exercise (RAE2008), as
well as by colleagues with extensive professional experience in the
news media industry.
