Programme structure

What will I study?
Modules
Our skills-focused modules have been specially designed to develop your analytical, evaluative, reasoning, communication and problem-solving abilities. A strong focus on career planning, commercial awareness and entrepreneurship is integrated into the course and in the final year there is a Path to Professional Practice module which provides a transition to the next stage of professional legal training if you wish to pursue a legal career.

Throughout the course you will study compulsory foundation modules required by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and Bar Standards Board in order to achieve a Qualifying Law Degree.

In your final year you will choose four International Law option modules and there is also the opportunity to undertake an independent International Law research project.

This not only ensures consistently high standards but also means that should your circumstances change then we are normally able to facilitate a change in your programme and study mode. Your career development
A Law degree is highly valued and provides a solid foundation for a variety of careers. 93% of our graduates are employed or engaged in further study six months after leaving (Latest DLHE Survey undergraduate results 2011/12).

If you complete your LLB with us and gain a 2.2 or above we will guarantee you a place on our excellent Legal Practice Course for intending solicitors. If you are interested in a career as a barrister there is the also the opportunity to progress on to our highly-regarded Bar Professional Training Course.

A Law degree doesn’t just have to lead to a career as a solicitor or barrister however.
