The degree in Accounting and Finance equips students with skills in a range of related areas such:

Developing knowledge and understanding of management accounting techniques to support management in planning, controlling and monitoring performance of the business

Understanding of the business and its environment and the role of the accounting function in contributing to the efficient, effective and ethical management of the organisation

Developing the skills, knowledge and technical proficiency in the preparation of financial statements for single entities and group of companies.

Developing knowledge and skills relating to the UK tax system as applicable to individuals, single companies, and groups of companies.

Developing the knowledge and skills expected of a finance manager, in relation to investment, financing, and dividend policy decisions.

Students are encouraged to take a placement in the third year of their degree and have the opportunity to undertake a 10 week placement as part of their final year studies.
