Overview
Istituto Marangoni was founded in 1935 in Milano as ‘Istituto Artistico dell’Abbigliamento Marangoni’ and in 2015 it reaches a special milestone, 80 years of history and success in training the top professionals of Fashion and Design.
Istituto Marangoni can praise itself for the education of four generations of students from 5 continents and for having launched over 45,000 professionals in fashion and luxury fields, such as Domenico Dolce (Dolce & Gabbana) and Franco Moschino. It currently educates 4,000 students per year from 106 countries at its schools, located in Milano (the School of Fashion and the School of Design), Paris, London and Shanghai, the international capitals of fashion, design and luxury. In October 2016 Istituto Marangoni will open a new school in Firenze, a meeting place between fashion, art and design.
Istituto Marangoni was born here. Here the great names of Italian prêt-â-porter were trained. We are in the city centre, a few steps from the path of fashion excellence, Via Montenapoleone. Milan is the city of fashion par excellence; here new ideas and styles are continually developed. And Istituto Marangoni students find the tools to interpret and guide and grow through study programs that are constantly updated becoming highly skilled professionals in the fashion industry at the highest creative, organizational and business levels.
The new school of design is located in Via Cerva, in the heart of the city, in one of the areas full of the most important national and international design brands.This space is completely new and will be dedicated to fostering environments that are strategically useful to the most strategic to the subject: from internal and industrial design studios to visual design.Here students will find the stimuli and skills to grow and become designers of excellence, who are capable of operating in a vast array of professional environments.
The School of Fashion & Art, Firenze
The opening of the new school on Via de’ Tornabuoni 17, a few steps from Piazza S. Trinità and Gucci and Ferragamo museums, is scheduled for October 2016.
It will train tomorrow’s fashion, art and design excellence.
The course offer includes both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes ranging from fashion design, to art management, up to accessory design.
The Marangoni Paris campus is just a few minutes from the Place de l'Opera, in a seven-storey building where students can breathe the air of the most important Parisian fashion houses, Chanel, Hermes, Lanvin... Here participants can learn fashion and design theory as well as attend workshops and photographic studios for a course that begins with the history of haute couture and goes on to contemporary fashion. Every day in the classroom, students are met by established professionals from the main houses, helping them to develop their skills in all areas of the fashion system.
We are in Shoreditch, the coolest area in London for art and creativity. With its visual stimuli and culture, this is the place for looking to the future. From here come the newest styles, the newest trends in fashion and design.
