Overview

This degree will develop your knowledge of the broad areas of business and management with a particular focus on human resource management. You will learn how to develop and manage businesses and individuals, taking into account emerging issues such as sustainability, financial crisis and technological innovation.

You will be equipped with the skills to deal with uncertainty and complexity and to make decisions based on quantifiable information. As part of your studies you will have the opportunity to work with business professionals and/or local communities on live projects in order to gain valuable practical experience.

Programme structure

Year 1
Students are required to study the following compulsory courses.

Personal & Professional Development 1 (Business) (15 credits)
Introduction to Business Processes (30 credits)
Business Planning and Development (30 credits)
Organisation Behaviour 1: Managing the Performance of Individuals (15 credits)
Introduction to Human Resource Management (30 credits)

Year 2
Students are required to study the following compulsory courses.

Personal and Professional Development 2 (PPD2) (15 credits)
Creativity and Decision Making in Business (30 credits)
Teams in Organisations (15 credits)
Employee Relations and Reward (30 credits)
Operations Management (30 credits)

Year 3
Students are required to study the following compulsory courses.

Leadership in Organisations (15 credits)
Managing Strategy (30 credits)
Sustainability in Business (15 credits)
Personal and Professional Practice 3 (SMS)
Employee Relations and Reward (30 credits)

Students are required to choose 30 credits from this list of options.

Final Year Project: Consultancy Project (30 credits)

Final Year Project: Thematic Independent Studies (30 credits)
