Overview

This course will provide you with the skills to become an expert in materials science with a specialisation in nanotechnology.

A nanomaterial is a material that has particles of nanoscale dimensions, or one that is produced by nanotechnology.

The first semester covers the fundamentals of materials science and engineering. Semester two gives you a comprehensive grounding in nanoscience and nanomaterials.

The course content and teaching methods reflect the interdisciplinary nature of the subject. We keep it flexible so you can specialise in what interests you the most.

That could be inorganic nanomaterials or biomaterials. Or anything from nanocomposite materials to nanomagnetic or nanoelectronic materials.

For the research project, you join a (nanomaterials-related) research group of your choice. The project represents one third of the course.
