Entry qualification | High school / secondary education (or higher) Interest in IT and technology, interest in culture, creativity and ability to abstract. General university entrance qualification, preparatory course for university acceptance or study preparatory programme at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria. The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / German. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original. Attention: if given preliminary admission, international applicants MUST provide legalised documents translated to German or English for the following documents: Legalisation confirms the authenticity of documents, signatures and authorities that issued the document. Basics of electrical engineering and mechanical engineering
Electrical apparatus, machines and drives
Electrical systems for energy transport and distribution
Modern electrical systems, including smart grid technology
High voltage engineering
Power electronics and electric drives, e.g. for electric mobility
Control engineering
Internship:
at least 10 weeks, in Austria and/or abroad possible.
Career opportunities
The students spend around 50% of the teaching time in laboratories and practical exercises and are thus prepared for the practical application of the theoretical knowledge they have acquired. In addition, close cooperation with local industry enables our students to gain hands-on experience as part of their project work and the mandatory internship .
Students are also invited to participate in the FH’s R&D activities in the form of student projects or as research assistants. Electrical storage systems, PV systems, e-mobility, power electronics, high-voltage and high-current technology, switchgear and lightning protection are some examples of the areas that are of particular interest.
