Programme structure
Focus
“Hardware-software-design” goes beyond classical computer science. This broad-based course closely links computer science and software development with hardware design and offers you additional know-how in the areas of digital networking , information technology and electronics. Basic methodological knowledge forms the basis for a professional, engineering approach. Individual deepening is possible through a variety of electives.
You will learn to develop software and hardware in a professional manner and to combine them optimally . So you can be well versed with microprocessors, sensors, control elements, software, integrated operating systems, networks and much more. and implement networked, intelligent products from them.
With this degree, you will acquire precisely the skills that are required for the development of digital high-tech systems – i.e. Smart IT – as we know them from Silicon Valley.
The course enables you to B. to make cars, airplanes and smartphones safe, efficient and intelligent and to bring the next generation of smart TVs, game consoles, robots and pacemakers onto the market. Networked systems such as Smart Home and Internet of Things are also your terrain.
In addition, you will acquire knowledge of system and project management and learn to think in terms of agile processes and system contexts. Foreign languages and personal skills complete your knowledge. Through projects with business partners and the practical semester , you can establish valuable contacts with companies at home and abroad and gain international experience during your studies.

Career opportunities
With this degree you have decisive competitive advantages. Instead of mere island knowledge, you combine interdisciplinary knowledge. You can think systemically and networked, which is becoming increasingly important when designing IT systems.
Their wide range of know-how includes:
-Creation of professional software applications ,
-Development of microcontroller systems including design of own microchips , and especially
the development of integrated computer systems (embedded systems) for intelligent, networked products.
This enables you to combine specialist skills that you would otherwise only achieve by taking several courses.
Fields of activity:
Job prospects in the “Hardware-Software-Design” course
This combined know-how is in demand across all industries. There is a wide range of possible fields of activity, in the following areas:
Smart Home,
Internet of Things (IoT, IIoT),
Development of microcontroller and sensor systems,
Robotics,
Consumer electronics,
Engine controls and vehicle electronics,
Driver assistance systems and autonomous driving,
Firmware development,
