Programme structure

Agricultural technologies are technical aids in food production, from primary production to food processing, which secure our income and at the same time increase food safety. For the farmer, this means an increase in profits through optimized work processes and the use of operating resources. For the upstream and downstream stages of the food industry, this means increased data-supported efficiency and transparency in production; every component of a food is traceable. Digitization and technology make this progress possible. But which technologies are available to us and which investments make sense for a company? This is one of many questions that are dealt with in the Agricultural Technology and Management degree.

The topics – as complex as agriculture:

-From electrical engineering to sensor technology to digitization – the subject of technology
-From arable farming to greenhouses to precision farming – the topic of plants
-From anatomy to animal production to precision livestock farming – the topic of animals
-From business administration to agricultural markets to digital marketing – the subject of management

The graduates also receive the following certificates:

-Agricultural skilled worker
-Plant protection certificate of competence
-Training as a drone pilot

Career opportunities

Graduates can work in interesting professional fields such as:

-Research & Development: eg developing pioneering ideas to keep agriculture and companies in Austria marketable

-Agricultural business and business management: e.g. advising agricultural businesses and farmers who in turn (have to) work with the latest technologies

-Operations and production management, product development, product management and marketing, distribution / sales in companies: e.g. following technological developments in the agricultural sector and checking whether a certain product is relevant for a company; Software training for farmers and data analysis for companies

-Consulting activities, market analysis, marketing: eg analyzing consumer trends and implementing them innovatively; Participation in agricultural associations

-Agricultural journalism: e.g. participation in agricultural media
