Practice and research
Practical relevance in teaching and research is very important at the FH. The fourth semester is all about a practice-oriented diploma thesis, this ensures a smooth career start. In addition, numerous part-time lecturers from the construction industry and the construction industry bring up-to-date industry knowledge to the lecture hall. Existing research collaborations with Austrian and international universities will be expanded.
Career opportunities
With the two catalogs of electives “ Structural Engineering” and “*Integral Planning and Building *”, students can specialize individually in the second and third semesters of their studies . The graduates will work in companies in the construction industry, the construction industry, the building trade, the construction supply industry or in research institutes, engineering, architecture and civil engineering offices. The path to self-employment (e.g. as an expert) is open to graduates as well as working in public administration or with building supervisory authorities and public clients.
Top job prospects
With around 250,000 jobs, the construction industry is one of the most important national employers . Around a quarter of the nationwide construction work is generated in Upper Austria . In order to be able to provide this construction work in the future, the construction industry needs more than 800 academics . In order to meet this need, future leaders are trained in a practical way in this future-oriented master’s degree.
Credit for master builder or civil engineer examination
The master’s degree in civil engineering in building construction was developed in close cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Architects and Engineering Consultants. Large parts of the master builder or civil engineer examination are credited to the graduates .
