Career opportunities
In addition to developing your capabilities as an animator or game artist, the course will enable you to develop a wide range of transferable skills, from research and critical thinking, to problem-solving, to communication and negotiation. You will find career opportunities not only in animation production or the games industry, but television motion graphics, compositing, visual effects and independent filmmaking.
Our graduates have gone on to be employed in major production and games studios worldwide, including Sony Pictures, Aardman, ClothCat Productions and Rockstar Games.
Game Development is an expanding sector in the creative industries and this offers good opportunities for graduates from the course. The West Midlands is identified as the region with the highest number of employees in the game industry in the UK, so the University is ideally placed for undergraduate work opportunities for Game Art students, as well as placements on graduation.
