Other requirements | Students are selected using two selection methods:
Applicants can choose whether they take the SAT-test or participate in the entrance examination. Entrance examination All eligible applicants will be invited to an entrance examination organized on 1 December 2020. Invitations to the exam will be sent by e-mail. The entrance examination is organized online and participating in the exam does not require travelling. Applicants that pass the written entrance examination will be invited to an online interview that will be organized online on 9-10 December 2020. Participating in the entrance examination is not necessary for applicants with required-level SAT-test results. Content of the entrance examination: The entrance examination is a written test lasting 3 hours 45 minutes. It measures study skills, logical reasoning skills and competence in mathematics, as well as English language proficiency. The language test is compulsory for all applicants and it will be assessed on a scale of pass/fail. Only applicants passing the language test will be considered for admission. You must pass all parts of the examination in order to be able to be selected for admission. If you fail to reach the minimum points in any of the examination parts or in the total score, you will be disqualified from the entrance examination. Applicants will be accepted directly on the basis of the written part of the entrance examination without an English language test and online interview if they have achieved at least a total score of 6.5 in the IELTS language test. The applicant must download a copy of the language certificate to the application together with other documents by the end of the application period. SAT-test The SAT Test, organised by the College Board, is given all over the world on simultaneous test dates. For further information on the test, visit the College Board website. HAMK uses SAT-test results as a student selection method in Degree Programme in Information and Communication Technology, Bioeconomy, Degree Programme in Construction Engineering, Degree Programme in Electrical and Automation Engineering, Degree Programme in Mechanical Engineering and Production Technology, Degree Programme in Smart Organic Farming as well as in Degree Programme in Computer Applications. SAT-test is an alternative for taking an entrance examination. An applicant applying to the above-mentioned degree programmes can participate to the student selection either by taking the SAT test or by participating in the entrance examinations. |
