Programme structure

Year 1
Students are required to study the following compulsory courses.

Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology (30 credits)
Advanced Research Methods in Psychology (15 credits)
Social and Cognitive Processes in Performance (30 credits)
Advanced Statistical Methods (15 credits)
Applied Psychology Project (60 credits)
Psychology of Physical Activity, Exercise and Wellbeing (30 credits)

Career opportunities

Sport and exercise psychologists can work as independent practitioners or within clubs and sporting organisations. Sport and exercise psychologists are trained in specific areas, such as teaching, learning, arousal strategies, communication, motivation, and group processes. These areas of expertise are valuable to sports or performance environments, but also to schools, health institutions, organisations and businesses where these qualities are highly relevant.
