Career opportunities

Many graduates from these two departments have gone into careers that are directly related to their degree subject – such as teaching, research, working in an archive or museum, or working in the media in careers such as researching, producing, editing or directing for organisations including the BBC, Talkback Productions and S4C. Many other graduates have gone into diverse careers including accountancy, banking, marketing, public relations, the computer industry, local government, the police force and social work. Students of History and Media develop transferable skills – such as independent analytical thought, research, teamwork and written and oral communication skills – that are attractive to employers in a variety of fields.
