Career opportunities

Your BA in Education with Mathematics will prepare you for teaching and a broad range of employment or training options. Your teaching knowledge will help you establish a career as a community education officer, education administrator, lecturer, special educational needs teacher or youth worker. Your mathematical training will assist you in work relating to numeric analysis, such as working as an investment analyst, statistician or in research. The combination of the two subjects will enable you to apply for Primary and Early Years PGCE courses.

Throughout your training you will develop a wealth of subject-specific skills and other generic professional skills. You will be able to: plan efficient programmes of work; run training sessions and group learning activities; handle complex numerical data quickly and efficiently; and understand the management of variables in statistics. You will have also proven your abilities in reporting and presenting to a range of audiences and delivering work in time to meet specific deadlines.
