Entry qualification	High school / secondary education (or higher) good results in Spanish The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original.

Programme structure

Programme Year One

In addition to studying some of the modules that must be studied and passed in order to gain a Qualifying Law Degree, known as the ‘Foundations of Legal Knowledge’, students also undertake Spanish language modules with a value of 30 credits in the first year.

Programme Year Two

The second year is made of core modules in both Law and Spanish.

Programme Year Three

Year abroad

Students are required to spend the Year Abroad in an Spanish-speaking country. Students normally attend a partner University on the ERASMUS scheme (e.g. University of Deusto). Alternatively students may undertake a suitable work placement.

Programme Year Four

In addition to core modules, students choose one Law optional modules in semester one, and two Law optional modules in semester two. Students also choose one Spanish optional module in each semester. There is a wide range of optional modules, full details of which are on out website. The range is sufficiently wide to enable students to specialise in one aspect of law, if they choose, or to mix options from across the curriculum. The modules leaders are generally leading researchers in their field, enabling students to benefit from the latest developments in the law.

Timetabling considerations and subject prerequisites mean that not all optional modules will be available to all students every year. The list of options is reviewed each year.

Career opportunities

The majority of our graduates enter the legal profession. However, any degree which incorporates Law is recognised as a mark of excellence in virtually all employment spheres. Past graduates have embarked on a wide variety of professions, for example civil service; banking; charities and international organisations; management; the armed forces; accounting and finance; and the police service.
