Programme structure
This programme is designed to deliver the highest standards in learning practice, while aligning with specifications determined by the BPS, and the QAA benchmark standards for business and management.
You will learn to reason scientifically, applying the main perspectives in psychology to the explanation of patterns in behaviour, psychological functioning and thinking. You’ll integrate the main perspectives in psychology and business, considering their application to the understanding of their contemporary issues within both disciplines.
In your first year, you will learn about the six core subject areas of Psychology, in addition to both the structure of organisations and businesses. You’ll gain a knowledge of finance and operation within different organisations, as well as developing psychological literary skills, such as writing and presenting. You will begin to think analytically, looking at different concepts and ideas.
Your second year will put a greater focus on professional practice, with some modules integrating biological and cognitive psychology to highlight the relationship between brain function and thought processing. Our Employability module will also provide you with experience and help with CVs and interviews.
In your final year, you will conduct an Integrative Research Project, combining all elements of the degree in order to evaluate and answer a specific question relating to the course.
