Programme structure

Year 1 (FHEQ Level 4)
The programme starts with a common first year across all Business Management pathways. This will allow students to make an informed decision about either confirming the pathway chosen on entry or switching to an alternative.

Compulsory modules:

Business Skills
Operations Management
Economics for Business
Financial Accounting
Marketing Principles
Organisational Behaviour and Analysis
Business Ethics
Business Decision Making

Year 2 (FHEQ Level 5)
Students take a number of compulsory modules, an equal number of pathway modules and two optional modules. Any students leaving with a subsidiary award at either FHEQ Level 4 or 5 would not include the pathway in the title.

Compulsory modules:

Human Resource Management
Marketing Communications
Management Accounting
Consumer Behaviour
International Fashion Marketing
You will also choose from three elective modules.
Your Professional Training placement, if selected, would be taken within your chosen pathway.

Year 3 (FHEQ Level 6)
If students exit at the end of FHEQ Level 6 they will have 360 credits, of which 90 credits will be designated pathway modules.

International Business Strategy
Entrepreneurship and Business Planning
Research in Marketing
Project Management
Marketing Strategy
Marketing in the Digital Environment
Marketing Analytics
You will also choose from one elective module.

Year 4 (FHEQ Level 7)
This year is only for students on the MBus. Students do two compulsory modules, two pathway modules, an applied research project in their chosen pathway and one optional module.

Students exiting at the end of FHEQ Level 7 will have achieved 480 credits of which 195 will be in the designated pathway. To maintain their place on the MBus programme students must achieve a minimum of 60% at each level of the programme. Students registering on the BSc programme will be allowed to transfer to the MBus programme if they achieve this level.
