Entry qualification

Undergraduate diploma (or higher) a good honours degree (minimum 2.1) and enthusiasm for, or experience in documentary radio, film, reportage or multi media. The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original.

Language requirements	English IELTS: 7.0 with minimum of 6.0 in reading and writing CAE: 185 overall with no less than 169 in reading and writing

Other requirements

At least 2 reference(s) must be provided. A motivation letter must be added to your application. If your personal statement exceeds 4000 characters, please upload it as a document A relevant portfolio is required. All applicants will be asked to submit two short (250 word) documentary proposals as part of the application. These will be judged against clear criteria that show an understanding of the documentary genre, and creative ideas for achievable projects.

Career opportunities

The teaching team are all from industry and have backgrounds in award-winning documentary production and reportage. Employability is a key focus of the course, and you will meet commissioning editors and documentary producers within the field. You will work with live commissioning briefs wherever possible and will be encouraged to pitch ideas to documentary and other festivals during your course. The MA is designed to enhance you future career in documentary journalism across a range of platforms and outlets, terrestrial or online.
