Opportunities for progression
94% of our postgraduates* are employed or engaged in further study six months after leaving (*of those available to work – DHLE Survey 2012 / 13).
Students can go on to work in any field of accounting and finance with a strategic view of accounting and its relevance to the organisation.
Graduates from this course have taken up positions with one of the top four accounting practices, in consultancy, tax and as trainee auditors. Other areas for careers are strategic management accounting, financial analysis or related fields in the financial sector. This may include corporate finance, investment and portfolio management, international finance, central banking or consultancy.
A sizeable proportion of students join graduate management trainee programmes and students have also been offered jobs with the SME company for whom they have completed a consultancy project as part of the course.
Career development
As an integral part of the course, careers advisers will run a series of workshops where students can identify methods and strategies to enable them to effectively pursue their career goals. The workshops will focus on both home and international students and concentrate on developing skills and occupational awareness.
