Entry qualification | Undergraduate diploma (or higher) At least an upper second class honours BEng or BSc degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering, science or technology subject is required for entry. _All applicants for the conversion degree in civil engineering will need to demonstrate their competence at mathematics or physics. This would normally be either through the successful completion of mathematics modules as part of their first degree or completion of A-level mathematics or physics. _ |

Programme structure
The MSc Civil Engineering comprises two semesters of taught classes, followed by a research project carried out during the summer months.
Our researchers are working at the cutting edge making a real difference, the MSc Civil Engineering projects are an integral part of our research, so you could find yourself working on a research project at the forefront of engineering science.
Our extensive Civil Engineering and advanced computing facilities support our teaching and research activities. As an MSc student you will spend your time putting your theoretical knowledge into practice in our labs.
In addition to our conventional MSc Civil Engineering we offer two pathways:
MSc Civil Engineering with Industrial Placement – Inclusion of an 11 month funded work placement. Open to UK and EU applicants only
MSc Civil Engineering with Conversion degree – For non-Civil Engineering graduates
