Career opportunities
Podiatrists treat many different groups of patients who have a wide range of systemic problems, such as: diabetes, poor circulation, rheumatoid arthritis, or skin disorders.
They also look after those who have more specific lower limb disorders such as: limb length difference, Achilles tendonitis, or ankle sprains.
After graduation you could end up working in a variety of employments, like within the National Health Service or private practice. But that’s not all…
Podiatrists also find work in the commercial sector, the leisure business, as well as in education and research.
Traditionally our graduates have worked as clinical practitioners and progressed through to managerial posts.
However, some choose gain further qualifications in specialist areas such as sports, diabetes, surgery and paediatrics.
In Health Sciences we are proud to have an outstanding record of giving our students excellent prospects.
For example, in 2013 an incredible 95% of our graduates went into work or further study within six months.
