Programme structure

This BN degree in mental health nursing has been designed to give you the best of both worlds: practical AND academic.

You will spend a lot of time in lectures and seminars benefitting from the knowledge of academics, many of whom are at the very forefront of their field.

You will also spend time on practice placements in both hospitals and in the community; giving you a real taste of what the job involves.

Career opportunities

Working as a nurse in the field of mental health is extremely rewarding.

You will need to be a good listener to help people through their problems.

By the end of your degree you will have developed a range of transferable skills essential to nursing.

BN mental health nursing degree graduates go on to work in a variety of settings, including: shelters, addiction and self-harming services, dementia services, residential homes, prisons and acute units.

In 2013 100% of our nursing students went into employment or further study within six months of graduating.

This is largely down to the hard work and dedication of the individuals who chose to study with us.

But it is also because employers know that we give our students a world class learning environment that helps them reach their potential early.
