Introduction to TV Studio Production (30 credits)
Broadcast and Cinema Technologies (30 credits)
Fundamentals of Filmmaking (30 credits)
Post Production (30 credits)

Year 2
Students are required to study the following compulsory courses.

Production Practices (60 credits)
Digital Enterprise and the Creative Economy (30 credits)

Students are required to choose 30 credits from this list of options.

VFX Principles (30 credits)
Advanced Broadcast and Cinema Technologies (30 credits)

Year 3
Students are required to study the following compulsory courses.

Graduate Project (60 credits)
New and Emerging Film Technologies (30 credits)
Pre-Production and Industry Preparation (30 credits)

Career opportunities

The BSc degree programme focuses on the scientific principles that support film, television and digital production with an emphasis on technology and students learning about the underpinning science of filmmaking. This degree programme suits students who would like to learn the skills needed to work in a variety of technical roles and follow a career path in a key craft skill such as filmmaking, lighting, cinematography, camerawork, digital graphics, motion graphic design, editing, post production, video compositing, special effects or visual effects.

Graduates from this programme work in a range of creative industries, taking on key craft skills in film, television and digital production.

Typically, you can expect 12 contact hours per week in a mixture of hands-on practical studio workshops, seminars, lectures and tutorials. Students are taught by renowned experts working in a variety of film and TV related fields. Our staff have won awards for broadcast TV programmes, scripts and short films and prizes for published articles and books.
