Studying this programme will open up a wide range of potential career paths. Career opportunities related to criminology include the police and prison and security services, as well as the Home Office, UK Visas and Immigration and HM Revenue & Customs. Alternative career paths include social work, child protection, mental health, community safety and crime reduction, and working for the Youth Justice Board. In addition, since it develops easily transferable problem-solving, research and communication skills, the BA Hons Criminology programme provides a good foundation for other occupations in both the public and private sectors.
