Programme structure
The BN adult and child nursing degree is structured to give you a range of theory and practice modules in both fields.
This includes all the information you would expect on high-standard BN adult nursing degrees and BN child nursing degrees.
You begin with the child field modules before moving to the adult field modules. At a later stage the knowledge and skills you have learned in each field become integrated.
By the end of the degree you will have a rich resource of competencies, skills and experiences to draw upon in your professional life.
Career opportunities
Nurses have more contact with patients than any other member of a medical team. As a practising nurse you will be the central support system for patients recovering from acute and long-term illnesses.
However, nurses can also find themselves working in specialist areas such as: intensive care, theatre and recovery, cancer care, or care of older people.
It is a career that offers many opportunities to work around the globe, as well as here at home, in the richest variety of roles and with many exciting challenges.
The BN adult and child nursing degree is a great example of how we provide integrated learning to help you become a more versatile professional.
Upon graduating you will be entitled to register in two fields of practice, which will make you particularly attractive to employers.
They know all about our commitment to the future of healthcare learning, our values-based approach, and the research we conduct.
That’s partly why in 2013 100% of our nursing graduates went straight into work or further study within six months.
Most of those graduates pursued employment with the NHS. However, the diverse nature of nursing means that they could also enjoy opportunities with the police, social work, or even the armed forces.
More information about careers in nursing can be found on the NHS Careers website
