Programme structure

The integrated masters in Environmental Sciences degree is a four year full time programme. All students complete compulsory and core modules throughout the degree programme and select additional modules from their chosen pathway. In the third and fourth years, there is more scope for specialisation on the master’s programme, including a research module in year 3 and a major research project that accounts for half of the final year. This master’s programme therefore includes a much larger proportion of research than the BSc programme.

Career opportunities

Career opportunities for MEnvSci in Environmental Sciences graduates are wide-ranging and include: environmental consultancy; sustainability strategy and policy; nature conservation; research environmental scientist; local, regional or national government; environmental management; environmental regulation enforcement; flood management and response; contaminated land; environmental impact assessment (EIA); environmental education; waste management; marine conservation; primary, secondary, further or higher education.
