Entry qualification

High school / secondary education (or higher) You must have an exam in Mathematics and an exam in another science subject (such as Physics, Chemistry, Further Maths, Biology, Geography, Geology). The third exam subject is flexible. The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original. Upload documents in original language and translations. You must take verified copies of the entry qualification documents along with you when you finally go to the university.

Programme structure

The first three years of the MEng Civil Engineering and Architecture cover technical aspects of civil engineering that relate most strongly to the design of buildings and other structures, and also provide modules and design projects that introduce the theory and practice of architecture. The fourth year focuses on design, management and teamwork – key skills that are highly valued by employers. It also provides the chance to gain in-depth technical and architectural understanding and knowledge in subjects with an emphasis on the built environment.

The MEng Civil Engineering and Architecture degree is accredited by the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institution of Structural Engineers, providing the first stage towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.
