Programme structure

The BMid degree in midwifery is set out as half theory and half practice, which allows for the right balance of academic learning and hands-on experience.

The modules you will study cover the many disciplines needed for modern midwifery. These include: psychology, sociology, leadership, politics, health sciences, as well as the fiscal aspects of midwifery.

Career opportunities

The BMid midwifery degree lasts three years and gives you everything you need to begin your career as a midwife.

Modern midwifery is a very demanding job, which is why it requires the skills and knowledge of a university graduate.

As a holder of the BMid midwife degree you will be entitled to register to practise with the Nursing and Midwifery Council: the body that regulates midwifery in the UK.

After all, by then you will have all the skills you need to provide high quality care to women and their families, including the critical thinking and leadership skills needed to be a top professional in your field.
